[Japanese version]

This article was published online on January 27, 2025, and was retracted on February 22, 2026.

After publication, we identified an error in the reporting of a point estimate in the sensitivity analysis (inverse probability of treatment weighting [IPTW]) presented in the Supplementary Material. Specifically, a regression coefficient (β) was reported without exponentiation, whereas the hazard ratio (exp[β]) should have been presented.

The underlying analyses, including the primary analysis (instrumental variable analysis), were conducted correctly, and the other reported results were accurate. However, after correcting this reporting error, the interpretation of the two-year cardiovascular risk changed, resulting in a material impact on the overall conclusions of the study.

Upon recognizing this issue, we promptly notified the journal and submitted a revised manuscript reflecting the corrected results. Following editorial evaluation, the article was subsequently retracted.

We regret that this reporting error was not identified prior to publication and sincerely apologize to readers, reviewers, and the editorial team for any confusion this may have caused.

The authors are strengthening internal verification procedures to prevent similar reporting errors in the future. We remain committed to transparency, accuracy, and scientific rigor, and we are preparing to submit a corrected version of the manuscript to another journal.
