Dr. Kurita was given the opportunity to co-chair a meeting of Advanced Care Planning.

I had the opportunity to chair a session on Advanced Care Planning for patients with renal disease from Japan and the United States. It was through Dr. Shibagaki, a professor at St. Marianna University School of Medicine. I gave a prologue by linking ACP to the clinical research we had done so far. We learned a lot from the presentations by Dr. Miyashita, who are studying ACP at Shirakawa STAR (Satellite for Teaching And Research), and Dr. Tsujimoto. Dr. O’Hare, a professor at University of Washington, gave us the opportunity to learn about the actual status of ACP in patients with kidney disease in the United States.
